Who is the Patriot Movement Project

What It Is

The dominant media is notorious for misrepresentations. One of those misrepresentations is its portrayal of members of the Patriot Movement as crazed racist anti-government wackos. If the media is to be believed, you'd have to put your house up for sale the minute a Patriot moves in next door because you couldn't get any sleep with all the anti-government rallies, gunshots, and cross burnings.

Let's face it; the media (which includes "Hollywood") has done a great job of making us look like inbred toothless morons. Of course it wasn't too hard; after all, they control what the vast majority of Americans see and hear. At times it seems as if network executives would rather have their lungs removed with a spoon than to let the American people get an accurate picture of who Patriots really are. We have made it even easier for this misrepresentation to occur by generally staying in the shadows, not wanting to attract attention to ourselves. A lot has changed in the last few years. The Patriot Movement (especially the Tax Honesty side of the Movement) is getting a lot more exposure than ever before; some of it's even positive. Technology is evolving and in time there will be no dominant media as we know it today. Today's Internet is just a harbinger of things to come. Despite these promising changes, today we still operate under the false image created by the media. Original Intent is dedicated to showing the American people the true image of the American Patriot. To that end we have created the "Get To Know Your Patriot" project. It is our hope that this project will accomplish two important goals:

  1. Allow individual Patriots to see their peers.
  2. Allow the general public and the media to see the true face of the Patriot Movement.

How It Works

Original Intent is asking Patriots across the country to participate in this project. It will cost you little or nothing to do so. The project involves posting your picture along with some limited information about yourself, but not enough information to compromise your privacy. We expect this project to achieve its goals without compromising your privacy.

The page that lists American Patriots has already been posted! We want you on it! After viewing this list, we hope that you will send us a picture along with a short bio of yourself.

Patriots today are at a critical juncture. We have spent the better part of 50 years preaching to the choir. For that reason we have remained a small percentage of the population and we have made it easy for others to lambaste us. That time must end and end now.

We need to let the public know that we are people they can be proud to have as their friends and neighbors. We need to let them know that we are people of substance. We need to let them know that we are just like them in many ways. We need to let them know that we share common concerns with them for ourselves, our children, our country, and our future as a free people. Equally important is that we need to let them know that we are here for them. We need them to know that if they investigate the facts, and reach the same conclusions that we have, that they are not alone; that they are not "odd"; that they are a part of something bigger than themselves and that they can make a difference if they stand with us.

I encourage you to stand with us in this most important venture.

Patrick Linstruth
Director of Political Affairs
